A car for a friend
« on: February 04, 2016 - 02:19:05 PM »
I started a Facebook page about the build of a 1970 challenger in memory of my best friend. https://www.facebook.com/Timschallenger/

Yes. I am building the car. My friend and I shared a passion for mopar. I loved the cuda and he loved the challenger.  I had a cuda at one time, but he never got to own a mopar. He past away in June 2010. I had been looking for a cuda to build but could never find one so i gave up. Then one day i got a text about a challenger for sale. Then it just clicked. I've had my dream car, and thats my buddys dream car. So i got it. And im going to build it just how he wanted his dream car to be. I want to share the car with his family and friends.

His dream car is, a 1970 challenger 440-6. Plum crazy with black interior R/T side stripes and bulge hood black out. There a few things im changing so i can afford the build. So no six pack. But i do have a 440. And 15" wheels instead of 17".  He wanted a custom 5 speed. But because i have a 727, and for drivability for every one to enjoy. It will be a slap stick. Witch i know he liked.

I have enough parts to get the car running by summer. But not drivable as it needs new wheels and tires and break work.

Thanks. So far theres little things needed. Like interior locks, headliner bows, arm rests. I could go on. I spent my parts budget for the year already getting the 440 drive line. Well worth it.  So it will be quite some time before i can get more parts. Thanks again for offering. It means a lot.

Ok I found it, my phone says 3.5 hours, KCK is about 3 so I figure it's about right.  If u have a build party I could probably make it down for that.  Otherwise, I'll pm you if/when I'm down that way

Off the top of my head??? Well what i already listed. I know i need the inner rear window trim. And the outter rear lower window trim. Big block engine mounts. either big block to small K frame or big to big. I have both a big and small block K frame. Not sure if i can use the power steering box from the small K frame on the big block K frame? I need wheels and tires. Was going with 17" American turqe thrust ll. But most likely going with the 15" cuz there a little cheaper.

Im not asking for hand outs and donations. But i wont say no! I am tapped out as for as parts money for the year. I cant every get sand paper at this point. But any help is incredibly generous. God bless
