Thanks folks.  I'm using a 1972 bumper and removing that gap between the bumpers.  The Hot Rod link is exactly what I needed.

There are not too many fans of the 73-74 bumperettes, unless you have an unrestored original!
Have you drilled the holes yet for the three piece trim?  There are three each for the corner pieces.  I will look and see where I put the measurements for the deck lid hole spacing.

Thanks folks.  EB3, this is a base model 1973 so I've abandoned a full true restoration in pursuit of a reliable vehicle and performance.  It is a matching numbers 318 BH car so I am not doing anything radical.  I really like the grand coupe and have toyed with the trim options but at this point have opted to forego the trim and light packages.  It'll be more like an AAR but without the strobe stickers.

The Blue is looking fantastic!

I guess I was confused as you had posted this earlier:
Quote
I visited the body shop this weekend and it looks like painting is about to begin.   :cooldancing: There is a question about how the tail light panel is painted. This is a 1973/72 Cuda with a black tail panel.  Does the black end at a one of the top indents, the top bend or all the way into the lip of the trunk.  And, what about on the ends attached to the quarters? I've seen and viewed various lines.  This panel was already stripped down when I got it.  Any guidance or pictures are appreciated.

Which, if you say:

...then you would not have had a black tail panel to begin with.  A BH model would be body color tail panel.   IMHO, the black and the trim go together; one or the other, by themselves, just doesn't seem right to me.  :2cents:

Good luck either way!

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Thanks for the input.  I waffled on the black tail panel versus body color.  I may end up putting the trim on the trunk area but thought that it could wait for now. The engine bay received a matte clear coat.  I think that it looks good.  The rest of the car will have gloss clear coat.

Once that clear goes on, it really starts to pop!  yeah, you can always add the trim later, no worries. To me, the trim and the black just naturally go together.

I bought it from AAR quality fiberglass in Florida.  They were great to deal with.  www.aarqualityfiberglass.com.  It is a very nice quality product but I understand is not a perfect reproduction for an authenticate AAR restoration.  It weighs around 50 pounds and has reinforcements for the hinges and latch area.  Be aware that they stamp "AAR Fiberglass" into the underneath. I had another lower quality hood that is probably intended for racing as it is lighter but also clearly inferior to this product.

How does the quality compare to the AAR hoods sold by Year One?

I can't really comment on the Year one hood but once you watch the video on AAR quality fiberglass you will see it is a high quality product.  They are hand laid fiberglass.  I did some research on fiberglass production and was sold on this hood.  There were also several other C-C members that recommended it.  I was close to getting another but they recently went out of business so the price and lead time was too much for my needs.

The originals weee pretty bad. I think the YO will work for me. It's $775+ shipping. I might be able to get it shipped free and I can get the 30% coupon.
