    Thanks folks.  Yes, I too would recommend media blasting after what I went through.  I originally chose not to media blast because I knew that I had alot of new metal to apply first and my sequence of events would have been goofy.  I also saved a couple thousand dollars which I needed for all the extra metal and other unplanned costs.  I can say for certain that my blood, sweat and tears are on every inch of this project. I'm hoping to pick-up momentum now that most of the metal work is done.

    getting the metal work done is a major achievement, I am working on that now with my 73 Cuda as well. I am using Goodmark fenders and they have a few issues.

    Agreed.  I've been monitoring your thread and really like your fabrication and modifications.  I'm not as aggressive but surely jealous.  I was going to try contacting you about your front spoiler in the near future.  I'm looking for options and am unsure if I'll take the time to fabricate like you did.  Didn't you also fabricate some LED brake lights?

    BTW - I too have to consider options with my fenders and was looking at the AMD products.  I've had a pretty good experience with their metal so far.  I'll be posting an inquiry with pictures for opinions in the near future.

    Yes I did fabricate LED brake lights using road big rig lights. There is someone else on here who did the same thing, the difference is that they put the LEDs in all 4 taillights whereas I did the brake lights as they were designed, then I used a LED light for the back up lights. When I did mine, I couldn't get my head around the backup lens which is white as you know, I didn't want to hit the brakes and have it all light up, therefore I fabbed in some cheap walmart LED driving lights as back up lights; they seem to work well.

    I am not sure, but when I went to buy fenders, AMD didn't have them for 72-74 Cudas and I just saw another thread with someone saying they were looking and AMD still doesn't have them. I would say, if they are close or if they have them, use AMD. The Goodmark fenders are not terrible, but they are far from perfect. The biggest issue I found which I am fixing now is the bottom rear of the fender which bolts to the body with 2 bolts or nuts (depending on if you are using studs down there or bolts) is not correct. The GM fenders are dimensionally ok and fit the body, but in this bottom location, the flange that is supposed to go over the studs or that you would put bolts through is not in the right location, the holes need to be about 1/4 to 1/2 inch higher, the problem there is that there isn't any room against the inner brace for the bolt or nut head and washer. So you have to make some room in this area. I will be positing information and pictures on my build thread. It isn't hard, just took some time to figure out. Once you know, it is pretty easy to fix If you have a cut off wheel and welder.

    Fantastic work!  And great pics of the underside.  I zoomed in on several, and everything looks fantastic!  I will be in a similar situation soon with my next project.  A lot of re-metal work, and a tight budget. What type of front spoiler are you thinking of?

    Thanks.  I don't know my options for spoilers.  I know that I don't care for the chin guards.  I've heard people talk about modifying a camaro spoiler (68?) and I do like the look of Brad's car and 70Chall440. Any suggestions are welcomed.

    The options are somewhat limited. The Camaro spoiler looks ok, I just don't like how narrow it is. The AAR race spoiler is long enough but looks pretty big up front. This is why I built the side skirts, to get it to flow into the body which I think makes it look much better. Without the side skirts, it looks odd from the side I think; looks out of place. I looked at making one like on the new Challengers but ran out of enthusiasm. I really don't care for the stock AAR chin spoilers; seem like a compete add on and of little value, not to mention I don't think they look very good on anything other than a stock AAR.

    It all depends on the look you are going for.

    That is what I am using. I bought mine from a guy on Pro Touring Mopar.

    As far as the side skirts go, it is directly related to your skill level and available resources. It isn't super difficult but it isn't super simple either. It is hard for me to give an accurate judge of difficulty because I only know my own ability. That said, on a scale of 1 to 10, I would say this is probably around about a 6.

    It’s time to take advantage of some warmer weather.  I had the garage up to 65 degrees in a window before the cold came back here in New England.  It hailed and snowed! The under body coated nicely so I moved onto the inner fenders, roof, trunk and lower radiator support.
