Rocket Racing Fuel series, chromed aluminum:  fronts 15x7 with 4.25" backspacing and rear 15x8 with 4.50" backspacing.  BF Goodrich T/A front 225/15/60 and rear 255/15/60.  The wheel heights are about 1.5 inch differential.  Both sets have sidewalls that extend about .50 inch over the rims.  I think that I had more room for 275's in the back but once the car is fully loaded I'm thinking the 255's will look nice. I was concerned with the back spacing for the fronts but it all seems to be fine.

Your wheels and tires look great!  :2thumbs:  I also used Plastex to repair several cracks and a missing fin on my '70 'Cuda grill and I agree that it works well.  I also have several scratches in my original glass so I was pleased to hear of your success in getting rid or lessening them so I'll give that a try also.  Car is really coming along and looking great! :ylsuper:

It's slow going with the details.  I've been cleaning, coating and installing the smaller items like windshield wiper motor and mechanism, LP holder, plastic and installing glass.  While my driver side door window installed the passenger side was missing parts.  I obtained a slide, but looks like a non-1973 style.  I was missing a stops and a beveled washer for the horizontal glide rail.  I can only assume that I had tweaked the assembly and put undo force on the glass, IT SHATTERED! :swear: :stomp: I've since obtained a replacement glass but am still struggling with it.  I guess it's time to step away and revisit in a week.

I also cracked the grill when installing.  I've since repaired it and painted it with a dark argent silver this time.  I'm much happier with this.  I'll supply pictures in the future.

Stepping back is the smartest thing you can do when things aren't going your way. I've been there a few times myself. It will all come together eventually. It sure looks great so far.

Well, I don't know where time goes but slow progress has been made on electrical, interior, wiper assembly.  Probably more importantly is that I finally finished that darn window.  I figured out what I did wrong and caused that glass to break; yes it was one of those "duh" moments :swear: :stomp: :pullinghair: I was missing several components on that window including the upright glide assembly, a missing piece of plastic on the rear guide and "proper" washers on the horizontal guide that mounts to the window.Thanks to the guys at Roseville Jonathon and Dave, I was able to get a new window and several of those hard to find pieces. The number one issue in my situation is that I received an assembly for a 1972 which mounts to the glass different.  I didn't pick up on that and it tweaked the angle of the glass when cranking and it shattered the glass.  It's all good now except for the the endless adjustments.  :banghead: I can include pictures if anyone wants them.

I've been working on fabricating an air cleaner base for an AAR hood.  I made a couple templates to get size, contour, depth and bends.  I ended up with a design that I think is pretty solid by using a 14 gauge sheet, with a welded lip and reinforcements for stiffening that provides a clean seal for the air filter.  Right now I'm at a point of determining where the seal is supposed to meet the hood.  See the picture with the chalk line.  Does anyone know where these seals match to the hood?  Should it be just inside the scoop or on the edge like I have it?

I dont know for sure but I think where have the seal making contact will work good.

Do you have any more pictures of the base, I am very interested in how you did it and am seriously considering doing the same thing on my Cuda. Where did the seal come from? I was considering buying a repop AAR/TA base but they are like $700... I dont know that I would go with 14g, seems a bit heavy.

Good job! Looks like it will seal to the hood. It seems the plate's perimeter could be a 1/2" larger if necessary. Below are pix of Brad70 ? fiberglass base plate.

Thanks Ironman.  That picture confirms that my plate needs to move forward about a half inch.  I have a small lift on one side of the hood and I figured it was the cover and I have the same corner to adjust.  The seal is tapered so I was thinking that I need to get more surface touching the hood.  This is not a ram hood so I'm thinking that any seal will work to keep the warm air away.

70chall440, of course my friend.  I was waiting until I had this closer to completion to send you an e-mail.  I really went backyard fabricator on this one.  You'll probably laugh at how I accomplished the taper around the carburater.

The seal came from Dale's cuda shop and it is an AAR correct kit.  Do a search on e-bay as I think that there are others out there for your application.

There is more than one way to skin a cat. Because my 340 came with factory ac the six-pack air cleaner is too long and will bump the compressor. Posey/Gurney on their SCCA e-body could only run one carb and installed a round air cleaner and a plate fastened to the T/A hood. I intend to fabricate a system similar to theirs. See pix. Summit Racing sells the Spectre blue air cleaner and it comes with a round base plate with seal.

This is good news.  I too have an A/C unit to install but had chosen to defer until after the car is on the road.  I have the factory system but am open to an aftermarket if needed. Like 70chall440 pointed out, the cost of a repop package was too much for what I was seeking so I chose to tackle this myself.  Thank you and I'll look for your thread.
