Yup, car is still in transport, but I can tell it needs the VT Trim.  Have I made the mistake of thinking there shouldn't be a difference between standard and SE Vinyl Top Stainless Trim?   It has the trim that goes around the rear window.  If the SE Vinyl Top Stainless Trim is different than the standard trim, I'm guessing it is not in reproduction?

Not reproduced, SE only, you could probably cheat & use regular trim which is also not reproduced.. I'm not 100% sure if the trim position is the same. it could be slightly lower on an SE requiring longer trim... It's definitely wider...

Hey guys,

SE vinyl trim is 3/4" wide and standard Challenger vinyl trim is 1/2" wide. The SE trim is shorter and hugs the join line of where the window plug and lower original window meet, and the original standard style trim is longer and sits 2" further back from the lower window edge. Very different and not interchangeable at all.

I saved this picture from one of the forums several years ago. When the trim is eyeballed, just keep in mind that the SE specific trim will seem nearly equal when looking down from both sides of it's 'peak' while on non-SE trim those sides are noticeably unequal.

Hey guys, Given the apparent rarity of the 70 Challenger SE VT Trim, even though not correct, would it work (this is a RestoMod build) to simply go with the standard VT Trim?

Since the std trim is slightly longer the hole pattern would be further down on the dutchman panel... If you can properly locate the holes & attach the moulding clips I don't see why it wouldn't work...

Now when you discover the condition of the headliner board & the overhead console you can decide if it's gonna stay an SE or if the better choice is to loose the window plug & the fancy headliner & go with a regular headliner & a big back glass...

That is exactly what I was thinking!  Car is now on a transport trailer, should be here by Monday, February 15th!
