What parts are NOT available as aftermarket that you wish were???
« on: February 09, 2016 - 02:04:44 PM »
Title says it all.

What parts are NOT available for E-bodies that you wish were made??

Or another question...which existing aftermarket parts that with only 1 manufacturer are junk?

Aftermarket options are light years ahead of when I restored my 71 Cuda in 1999. I am weighing options of a refresh vs. full resto.

A reproduction of the correct looking Prestolite Horns would be nice.
A better more accurate trunk mat.

Dash pads that fit right ,without having to fork over big $$$ at JD , Patch panels that replace the rear window corners without having to buy a full quarter.also a patch panel to convert a non a/c firewall to a/c and vice versa. Replacement glove boxes made of composite instead of cardboard, Bolt in Voltmeter in place of the Ammeter on standard and ralley dashes. Replacement fuse block for mini type fuses to replace the glass type fuses. Replacement torsion bar sockets for the torsion bar support side.  New stainless drip rail moldings. Rebuild kits for wiper transmission. Delrin window plastic guides  (instead of the the cheap plastic ones they have today) . New door latches and hardware.  new reproduction 71 72-74 hood release levers. New e-body hood secondary hood catch. A few others but thats just off the top of my head

Doesn't get any better than that! Ask and you shall receive.  :2thumbs:

I will have to think of a couple hard to find parts and see if Dave can pull another rabbit or two out of the hat.

OK, here is one that probably will not be on any reproduction list anytime soon. I am working on a 71 Gran Coupe and in desperate need of fenders. AMD makes "Cuda" fenders, but not the ones without the gill cutouts. Goodmark and Sherman do, but not sure of the fit/quality. I had one guy who was going to check on some, but never did hear back.

Oh, one more, good quality rear window louvers with correct hardware for both Cuda and Challengers.
