I've had a couple long trips to go get cars.      One of them was 5,510 miles and another was 5,092 miles.  I did the full 5,092 miles all in 5.5 days (including loading the car and lots of parts / engine).  Drove about 20 out of the 24 hours each day.  That was one of the best trips!  I would have slept more, but I was so jacked up thinking about the Hemi I never got tired.

I love driving to get rare and cool cars.  It might be my favorite thing to do besides restoring them.     Here's the longer trips I've driven for Mopar project cars:

~5,510 miles
~5,092 miles
~4,884 miles
~4,492 miles
~4,126 miles (drove the whole way back without my right bicep.  It tore off strapping the car on to the trailer)

Lots of trips under the 4,000 mile mark.  Going to take a drive in about a week that will be 1,548 miles.  It will be a 2 day trip to look at a car.

I've shipped some pretty far, but I'm sure guys have shipped them further.

The plan is to get a project car in Nebraska sometime in April or May depending on the weather through the Rockies.  Nebraska is pretty wide.  What side are you on?

When I do a trip east I go from WA to OR and across to ID then drop down to UT to get on I-80.  I'll follow I-80 out through WY and stop at the big truck stop (Little America).  That takes me about 14 to 16 hours depending on what trailer I take and head winds.  Fuel up there and see how I feel about continuing to drive.  I try to get some sleep in WY before heading across NE.   So it depends on where you are in NE and what time I drive by.  But if it's during the day I'll try to remember to let you know so we can get a bite to eat.

Hey Cody! When you come east to pick up a project, can it be assumed that your trailer is empty on the eastbound leg? Was wondering if you might consider trailering something eastbound for compensation for someone here on the board??

Yes, I've done that a few times.  Haul a car on the empty leg for fuel money.  If I take something, I don't ask for much else besides the fuel.  It does cost a little more for me to tow with a full trailer compared to an empty one.

I don't have any plans to go to St. Louis right now, but bet there will be something that comes up in the future that will bring down that way eventually.

Tried to send you a PM as to my evil plan, but your inbox is "full" and it was rejected. So I'll have to throw it out here in plain sight to get your input on it. I have been talking to a guy in British Columbia Canada about buying a car but racking my brain as to how to get it here without going broke. Problem for me is that it is 2,029 miles one way away from me and I don't have a truck and a trailer to go get it. The guy lives in British Columbia Canada just north of the Washington State border and I think he might be agreeable to bring it down to somewhere like Spokane Washington for me. If someone like you could pick it up and bring it east like to Nebraska, I could meet you wherever it is you may be going. Nebraska is only a days drive away from St Lou and I can arrange for a friend of mine with a truck and a trailer to make the trip there whereas trying to talk them into going all the way to British Columbia is just too far. Just brain storming as to how to get it here without breaking the bank and when I saw your post the idea popped into my head. Thoughts?

I'm in Omaha CODY so I'm basically on the border with Iowa.  Used to live in the westernmost part of Nebraska.  Just curious what part of Nebraska the car is in?  I spent a couple years driving around Nebraska, found a lot of cool stashes of cars in lots of different towns

Might work out.  I'm about 5.5 hours south of B.C. Canada.  Crossing the border with a car can be a little tricky, but is done all the time.  Just have to have all your paper work in order.  I'll PM you my email.

I think I'll be close to you.  Can't tell anyone about the car just yet.  Still have to get the deal done and schedule to get it.     But feel free to send me a list of the locations of the cool stashes in NE.     Promise I will not buy them all.

seen this and have to chime in. I live in Spokane, and have plenty of room for a layover or a holding spot for a car pickup if that would help. I have 4+ acres and some is even fenced and enclosed. Another good thing, I am right next to I-90 for easy access. Think about  it and see what you can put together.

If you could give his Ebay name I am sure I would recognize it if I saw it again, he is supposed to be very good price wise and very helpful.
I was hoping if I go later this year to try and get up to see him also as there are a few MOPAR yards and contacts up his way.
