Door Hinge - Rebuild Service? DIY?
« on: February 12, 2016 - 07:37:15 PM »
Now would be a good time for me to take care of my door hinges and I am seeking opinions for how to execute that.

There was someone on FABO rebuilding hinges for about $130, blasted, repaired, rebuilt, and epoxy primed...not a bad deal. Unfortunately he is no longer doing it.

Are you aware of someone doing this type of work?

I have a blast cabinet, vice, 20T press, etc. and could probably handle it on my own if I needed to. If DIY is the best option, who has the best kit?

Thanks!

I believe Dave at Roseville has the parts if you are up to it. He is a sponsor here.  :2thumbs:

NAPA has rebuild kits.  It was easy to do.

:iagree: I did mine last year. I think it was about $12 per side from Napa.
Remove hinge pins to remove door. Remove hinge from door and drill in drill press. We drilled the other half of hinge right on the car. Install bushings, load door and put pins in. It's not hard.
