Wow, that really sucks.  Some years ago, I had a '73 Barracuda and had just had a complete custom paint job and had done a bunch of suspension work. Less than a month after the new paint a Camero pulled out in front of me on a foggy morning. It was totally his fault and the insurance co. wanted to total my car. I threatened to sue based on the new paint & parts. They asked for proof, I gave receipts and they paid up. So I hope the person that hit you has good insurance!  And what state do you live in where dash cams are illegal??  Beautiful car. I hope it turns out well for you in regards to repairs!

It's Germany. Well I'm not quite sure if you can be punished for having it in your car but for sure it's not permitted as a proof in the court. It means it's possible case that you will be found guilty altough you have the video showing the contrary.

Don't paint the whole lft side. To do so, you need to either blend it off somewhere  in the quarter/roof area or go all the way over the roof and paint the rt 1/4 as well. Repair the lft door and blend the paint back to it's rearward edge and stop. A good painter should be able to do that easily, provided, as mentioned, that you can either get the formula for the previous paint job or find a painter that can match it. They're out there and Germany has a few excellent paint manufacturers who may be able to offer assistance- just ask and see. Just my

Of course I don't intend to repaint more than neccessary. For sure the paint needs to be blended at one point or the other. But I need to repair and repaint the door. To do so I need to remove the door billboard. If I replace the door billboard I will also have to replace the rear quarter part of it. I guess the area covered by the billboard might be looking more or less different from the surrounding area. Hopefully it's gonna be possible to blend the paint off properly, but it might also be neccessary to repaint that area.

By the way: can you recommend someone who could turn Barracuda fenders into 'cuda fenders by stamping the gilles?

Looks great!  Did you find original parts or did you go AMD etc..?

It turned out to be very difficult to find original parts in good shape or even NOS. Main issue were the grille and the fender. I only could find some barracuda fenders in mint conditions (no gills). Fortunately I was recommended a very skilled metal/body work specialist. He took the fender apart (he separated the outer skin from the inner braces) and than put it back into its initial shape. He spent a lot of time on which resulted in price being same as for a NOS part but there is no bondo on it and I still have my original fender and grille. I have purchased a reproduction grille additionaly and took the trim from it.

Glad to see it done once again! It would of bothered me everyday that it was not perfect.  Hope it didn't cost to much  . . . Nice that a skilled body man repaired the original fender!  Very cool!

I know a little bit about metal working, I could never do that. it's a bit of an art to me the people who can do that type of work is amazing. Looks good and it's nice to know it's done right!
