    If you have replaced quarters don't forget the new ones don't come with the wire holders at the inside top.

        Decided to open the trans up and see how it looks. I was pleasently surprised, it looks like new inside. Syncro's, gears, bearings very nice. Even reverse gears are pristein.  Going to order a gasket and seal kit and reassemble.

                       Yes it is. What surprised me is, from outward appearance it looked like a well used 4 speed. The usual dirt/ fluid seapage of years of use. I was sure it needed rebuilt. I opened it up and it looks new, clear clean fluid, crisp syncro's, gears, etc. Beats me.  :dunno:  In a way I'm kinda disappointed, I kinda wanted to rebuild it. But a penny saved is a penny earned.   :2thumbs:   Gaskets/seals on the way from Brewers.   :2thumbs:

    Much the same as the one I have in my Cuda. I bought it along with a pile of other 4spd stuff from a sister and brother who were given all of it by a guy who owed them money. They didn't know what any of it was. I paid a decent price for it all as I felt a little sorry for them because the guy told them it was all worth huge money (which it wasn't). Anyway, when I opened up the trans there was still paint on the gears, little to no grime, etc. Super nice inside, very tight and clean. The outside looked much like yours so I was expecting the worse. I need to find another one for my Road Runner, but happy to have the one I do.

                         A few pics from Tom, our painter. I've know Tom for several years and have watched as he painted several cars. Most notably a 70 Buick GS Stage 1 vert that brought 87K at Mecum a few years ago. His work is over the top. And as he's doing 1 car at a time, we will have it back in 2 weeks, one month total in and out.  No body shop jail.   :2thumbs:
