I'd sell my 71 - buy that - drop 15 into it and re-plaster my pool.  Good move on your part!

I'm sorry. Are any of you guys knowledgeable about B Bodies? I am not satisfied with any of the forums for 1970 Roadrunners. There is this ebay ad for one here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Plymouth-Road-Runner-/222276540958?forcerrptr=true&hash=item33c0b6da1e:g:OXQAAOSwLF1X-rpa&item=222276540958

I spoke with the guy, it's across the country from me. He will sell it for $35k. He claims he's owned it 25 years and saved it from a 1/4 mile racing career. It had an auto in for that, then. Now it has a non-#s matching 440 and 4-speed, who knows where from. The hood mounted turn signals are gone (only minor option). The underhood grabber base is cracked and not easily fixed. He says the paint job was done by his friend decades ago. He claimed he had to sell the 6-pack to make a house payment and had to piece that back together later, unless I heard wrong.

It was born with:
440 + 6-pack
4-speed
Bench Seat (I actually prefer to buckets my 2nd car was this "exact" car in non-6pack 440)
Go-Mango
Fresh Air Hood
Hood Mounted Turn Signals (now gone)

I just cant decide if this price and distance is worth it given the pedigree versus as-is piecemeal condition for a car across the country. Anyone know about this car, and possibly have seen it in person?

It's not perfect but looks like a nice driver for $35k, But yeah I wouldn't buy it without looking at it either.

Definitely bordering on the "too good to be true" line. Reads like a very nice car, but $35K for a 6 pack 4spd Dana car seems great, but I would be very cautious. For that money today and given how it looks in pictures and with the options, it should have sold almost instantly; its either a smoking deal or something isn't being said. Granted, it is not a numbers matching car, but it is a V code manual with air grabber.

sketchy...at that price-and is no reserve :stirpot:.  70's are nice, my buddy sold his (383 car) with a 440-6 A/G B5 hardtop last year for 40k, but prices have dropped significantly.
I just put my 69 Roadrunner 383 4spd, fully documented, #match up for sale/trade locally and people are crazy...good luck with your decision.
I would go onto (www.forbbodiesonly.com) and see if you can get a member to look at it for you.  I did that with a great member here when I was interested in a car in Washington State.

One thing that caught my eye is what looks like a floor replacement, and it's ugly.

Not having the original drive train I automatically take off 30% from an original price.

When something is too good to be true it usually is.....

I know it is tough knowing the engine and tranny are replacements. The vin/door plate/build sheet match. It has been butchered and piece mealed back to what it is now.

I'm gonna pass (unless I can be last bid for much less than $35k) and keep dreaming while I look at legitimate ones that sell for double or triple.

this car in vitamin c doesn't pop up for sale every day.
if you want it then buy it.
the floor pans can easily be redone correctly.
it could be a real nice driver.

It would be nice to see "before" the car was painted pictures. I always ask this question when buying.

CudaBob hasn't posted a dozen CL ads in weeks. Which I prefer to the one new post per ad format over there..
