Carlisle - Moparal
« on: February 19, 2016 - 07:20:16 PM »
I guess by now everyone knows I'm kinda sick.  Same ole Alan, but bad enough that I think I broke some kind of recoed for Social Security Dissability Benifits.  It took less than 45 days. And by the way, I was forced to go on this stuff. I didn't ASK FOR IT !!!. But they give me around 3 grand a month and also said I am not well enough to pay my own bills anymore, so now, they are paid for me. I will be 15 years old Feb 29th. It just don't seem fair. But my job Kicked my ass. Now people are getting hurt doing what I used to do and never had an accident or failure (except for my health)  lol.

I want to come one last time to Carlisle.  I want to bring my last car built by me also. It is nothing real special, it just represents me is all. I named my project   THE END OF MY BEGINING.  I will need to trailer my car there if I have it done. I am also planning on racing it 2 rounds at our track when the OKC street outlaws come here in April. I will most likely be the only street mopar there. My car is a pure street car with no power adder.  These 2 events will make this ole man stand proud. My heart is still in it. My mind and body are going away very fast.

My car is a 68 Road Runner, so I can not have it at our cc.c tent, but I will be setting with ya'll there for sure. If I can make it, health wise. I really want everyone to see my last build. Here is what I am doing if your interested

Hemi leafsprings with Caltracs
X275 DOT 10 inch Street slicks
Turbo Action 5500 8 inch stall with all the good stuff built in it.
Reverse manual shift trans
Manual disc front brakes, 11 drums on rear
Calvert dual adjust shocks
69 Air Grabber Hood set up for a Mod Man dual 4 Hemi tunnel ram intake and air cleaner. ( special Built in Detroit for me)
QQ1 factory paint job with black vynil top.
Magnum 500 road wheels with screw kits on insed of rims
Bench seat  :)
572 Hemi 800 hp on 93 octane with 10.75 comp at 5900 rpms, shifting at 6200
740 ft tq at 5200
dana 60 with 354 gear added was a 410 super track pack
Might be more stuff, but I forget a lot.
I have benn doing 20 hrs a day on my car full knowing that I will not be walking very soon.

I want to cruise with OldSchool Ken.  So I redid my factory 22 inch radiator and factory fan shroud. I want to look all factory except for a 69 hood, with 68 emblems on the hood. I had to choke down the exhaust some though. I am using TTI of course. non cermaic. 2 1/4 tubes to 3.5 collectors to 3 inch exhaust all the way back to factory tips modified for 3 inch pipes.

At the same time, Don's car (CUDA GUY ) will be done in just a few days. He has gone through quite a few more changes again. If he wants to disclose the changes, then he can make his own post. But his car will hook a lot better now, fuel delivery will never be a problem again along with some fun stuff, that was added.

So I have a very good cummins dually, working on an enclosed trailer now, I think someone can drive with me, so I can take my meds. Motel prices doesn't really matter. They are what they are. I will say I don't live where bugs like to eat and sleep where I do as well. So I will find a comfy room.  I will just park my truck and drive my car back and forth to the show. It is a driver.  If I am in a wheel chair, I can't come though. As it is, sometimes I'm in one here at home. But it only lasts for a half day or so before my bottom half come back and lets me move.

This is it for me though. I want to see everyone. And of course. I will bring alot of Mopar gifts to pass out at the tent. These are intended for members that are in need , not for resale for profit. Some stuff I give away is costly and it takes a year for me to buy this stuff to give away. If you can use it. It's free. If you intend on selling it? Well shame on you.

Thanks guys....ALAN

In my opinion the Roadrunner needs to be front and center at the C-C.com tent. All in favor say yes.   :feedback:

I'm going to try Brad. And really, I don't need front n center. Im just Alan. I do need to make sure that if I fall, it isn't on steel corners. I get tired of all the cuts n bruises I keep collecting.

I have yet to make carlisle.

Al, if everything goes right I'll be driving you up there.  I need to get some dates put down and I can try to make this work.
I want to be there with ya man!

You have been  a great friend over the years and you are very appreciated amongst a lot of people around the globe.

I'll be that RR is gonna be awesome!  Give them OKC boys a run for their money!  Wish I could make that one too.

Alan, I hope you make it to your "last" Carlisle and that I can make it to my first and that I can shake your hand if we both do it. That RR sounds like a fabulous behemoth and I really hope you both get to drive it and that I get to hear and see it. God bless

Guys I was fortunate to be able to spend a few hours at Alan's place a few weeks back, his '68 is a really solid body & it's coming together quite nicely.
Hoping it will be together in time for the trip. FB friends can see get a peak at some of the magic https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1000628143337546&set=rpd.100001711102208&type=3&theater

Josh, I so appreciated the phone call, I needed that. HemiKen got ahold of me yesterday aswell. He is trying to fly to Huntsville and all of us maybe be together fror the Journey. Maybe even wade will go with us or follow us with his Challenger. I just got an enclosed trailer to use about 15 minutes ago for the trip.

We are having rain rain rain right now. My car is ready to come home tomorrow. And it is supposed to be raining tomorrow to. There is 4 to 5 people ready to give me a hand in stabbing the engine in. Then I have Zero woring in the car. I have to rebuild it all. Even Slots offered to help me by sending me stuff, but I politely told him no. He is buried in work and is about at the end of his wits trying to help everyone in about 8 countries. I told him I can get this. It is what I do.  The outside of the body will not be painted untill after the race, then mopars at the battleship, but maybe I will have it out of primer for carlise. All the inside work and under cover work will be done though. I had a very nasty fall I think 2 days ago. I am still recovering from. I was getting things ready on Dons car Saterday? When my legs decided to stop responding. Friends couldn't catch me in time.  I'm ok , just a little sore and a few more cuts is all. I'm used to that.
