drivers seat back reclined too far
« on: February 20, 2016 - 06:49:03 PM »
My seat back has been too far reclined for some time now.
I just installed new Seat Back Bumper Stops and I adjusted them out as far as possible while still allowing the catch to engage.  No change in position.
I see at some point I doubled up on the shim/plate below the catch/lock using the shim/plate from the passenger chair, which doesn't have one now.
Not sure when this happened, but I've been living it with it for maybe 15 yrs now.

Any ideas how to move forward?

Thanks

 :iagree:

My original 70 drivers deat back was/ is bent to the point of it being next to worthless. Another reason that I decided to put new covers on the 74 seats that I had, that and they didn't need that repair or webbing or foam or new backs....  :roflsmiley:

Same thing happened to mine. Like 1 Wild R/T said, broken frame. Here's a couple pictures, broken on both sides.

Same here, mine looks like droptails in the first picture. Gonna check the frame.

Mine got to the same point as droptail's too. Those pictures were taken after it was somewhat put back into position before welding. Here's another option, complete '70 frames.
