If you look no page5 of my Cuda build, I show how I modified a trunk release to work on a Cuda.  The ones that work on a Challenger are different because the Cuda uses a lock cylinder off to the side and the lock mechanism must be able to rotate when the key is not inserted. It also uses a rearward facing arm that attaches to the lock rod. I had to use some of the original parts to make this work.
This works with my alarm's key fob to pop the trunk. I had to use the same type of actuator that I use for my power door locks.

Love your mod there.  Now, when installing the rearward facing arm to the electric unit, how is it attached?  Was it a straight swap removing the slotted keyway.  Did you have to make any mod for the swap?  I do see that you transplanted the rearward facing arm after removing the slotted keyway, just don't see how you did this swap.  Disassembly does not look to hard to get to the internals.

You just remove the piece with the slot then install the one from the Cuda. It looks yellowish in my pic. Exactly what you were thinking.
