    I know this was brought up when I posted the thread a while back about installing my Wilwood brakes.... where does one go about finding .0032" safety wire (or equivilant)?? I've check Napa, Lowe's and Home Depot.... with no luck! :mad: :gripe:

    Any suggestions...?? I was told to check with an Army Surplus store, but I'm having my doubts about that.... :dontknow:

    Safety wire is commonly used on aircraft.  Maybe check with your local airstrip to find where they order supplies from.   Or you could order on line from these guys:  http://www.flightessentials.net/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=927

    Try www.jegs.com and enter this part number in the search field: 720-8022G

    Edit: I see that wrencher's suggested vendor is much less expensive. You should try his source first.

    Thanks for the link wrencher!! Thought it'd be MUCH more expensive then that!! :thumbs: Might just have to buy stock in it!! :laughing:

    Yeah, it costs more because it's "high performance" safety wire.     :laughing:

    at .032 why not use solid core mig welding wire  :dontknow:

    Might be stiffer, but other than for rusting, it should work the same.

    Already thought of that CP.... but welding wire is MUCH stiffer then safety wire....

    hey LB just go to a motorcycle shop. I use to use saftey wire on my dirtbike handle bar grips so they didnt slide.  also on brake and shift leavers etc. VERY VERY common for off road. cheap too!
