« on: February 24, 2016 - 12:34:46 AM »
I bought this setup for my 340 but it sits too close to the hood for me to use it. It is the 440 air grabber PN 121-70AG440
I have a Quick Fuel carb on a LD340 Intake, no spacer.

$340 + $25 shipping to the lower 48 USA
K&N E-1980 Filter add $75
Complete Base, Lid and Filter Shipped for $440

I thought about modification of the carb opening by cutting it down or even cutting down the filter...
If it doesn't sell I may end up doing one or the other or both. I'm into it for over $450 already and that itself was a bit tough to swallow.
Pretty sure someone could cut the carb opening down so it could sit lower but that someone is not me... Cutting down a $75 filter maybe.

A little cutting a little welding some grinding and sanding a little paint :dunno:
I do have a rotozip, what's the worst I could do? Turn it into a Bar-B-Q?

FYI, you can call K&N with the model number of your filter and they will make a custom one for you in the height you need.  A former roommate of mine did that to get a 5" filter for that exact application.  It was only a few bucks more than retail on the "shelf" filter at the time, though admittedly that was years ago.

Looks like they sent me the 383-400 base not the 340-440 base... :pullinghair: :banghead: ZERO Drop!
I emailed them. I will update when I hear back.

I spoke to them on the phone today, they apologized for their mistake, are providing an RMA, paying for the return postage and sending me the correct Air Cleaner as soon as they get my return.

How does the air grabber kit look?  It is all metal?  Very good customer service with your seller.

Yes, all steel.
Looks good to me. I was thinking about a chrome lid or maybe black would look better in my engine bay. May go black Plasti Dip to see if I like it black.
I wonder if I can put wrinkle paint over the top of the Plasti Dip...  :dunno:

They told me on the phone that they had emailed but I just got home and checked my email and nothing yet. They are in Canada.. slow Canadian internet email?  :dunno:  :roflsmiley:
I'll give it a day before I call them back... Sometimes emails get hung up in cyberspace...

This is where I got mine.
