Dana tube length for B Body
« on: February 24, 2016 - 03:11:49 PM »
Does or can someone with a B Body Dana housing measure the length of both axle tubes from the end of the Dana casting to the brake backing plate on both sides please. I have an F250 housing I'm planning on turning into a B body housing and just want to make sure the existing tubes will be long enough once I cut the floater ends off it.

Greg - why didn't you just call me.. I will measure mine. So you want from where the tube is pressed into the center housing to the backing plate?

- to the backing plate = 18"
- to the outer flange = 17 5/8"

Drivers side
- to the backing plate = 19 1/2"
- to the outer flange = 19 1/8"

Thanks Mate.
I thought you had a Dana in the RR but couldnt remember, cool, thanks, so the flange thickness is 3/8" basically? mmm, looks like it'll just be ok! damn thing is so close now to B body its not funny so hopefully I can trim the flange piece off and weld on the Mopar end and good to go.

Yea, the flange seems to be 3/8 by the tape.

My Dana is a 1968 vintage B body and is on stands.
