Steel cowl induction hood
« on: February 24, 2016 - 09:29:16 PM »
Does anyone make a steel cowl induction hood for a 73 cuda? All I can find is the US body source fiberglass hood. Would much rather have a steel hood if possible.

Thanks Jimmycuda71

It was a GM thing, so Mopar wouldn't have it. But you can have one fabbed up fairly easy using a flat hood.

I "assumed" the reference was to something like a AAR hood. If this is a truly a cowl induction (as in GM) hood, definitely not and thankfully so...

Yes I was referring to the (GM style) cowl induction hood. Definitely looks better on the cudas than the camaros. The pictures that I have seen of cudas with cowl hoods looked bad azz. But that's just my opinion.

So who can fab one up from a flat hood. I have an excellent flat hood in my shop. I would much rather do that than go with fiberglass.

Any good body shop can do it.  Look in summit or Jegs for a cowel.  GM hoods are cheap, they make all different size lifts. So you will need to decide what heigth you desire. Usually 4 inch is the choice in my opinion.
