I got a cuda with SPD 28 june 1971. What date was the last production of the 1971 model year?
vin is bs23n1b443496, pretty late right?

That is a late SPD, but I have heard of some in July. So not the last one built but still a late build.

I have read that production stops in the second week of July , then new model year production starts Aug 1st.

Conslusion
Chrysler model year began August 1 and usually ended the 2nd week of July. (well one of my Challengers is made 23 july 1970 and it is still a 1970 modell

)
