Greetings from north Idaho. My son and I have a canary yellow with a black vinyl top 1970 Challenger. It's currently located in his garage in northern CA. My wife was the original owner and with her recent passing my son and I have decided it was time this thing get updated and driven again. It was a bare bones 318 automatic with the black vinyl interior, an AM radio, and drums around. I have all the original paperwork showing it o.t.d. for $3200. It's been repainted a couple times over the years and had some body cancer dealt with in front of the rear wheel wells. It has approximately 250K on the frame and suspension. The transmission is still the original and has been overhauled once, probably due for something more modern here. It's on it's third motor. In 2003/4 he and I built up a 360 bored to 371(?) that was well breathed upon. That motor only has about 5K on it so it should be OK for a while. Our plan is to completely rebuild and update the suspension, front and rear including going to discs and put some modern tires and wheels on it. It got a set of 14" Keystone Kustom Klassics with 60 series rubber. The wheels aren't true and decent 14" rubber is hard to come by so we decided to make that leap. Undecided as to what to go with yet. We want it to be VERY tour-able and yet more closely fit those massive wheel wells. So far we're liking the Hotchkis suspension kit. We WILL be attempting to tap into all the corporate knowledge within this forum. Feel free to jump in with any suggestions knowing what you know so far.
