Can you post up a picture of what you have? Maybe a bushing is not pressed in enough or something like that?

The indent is for the upper control arm rebound bumper....towards the front. :2cents:

Just a thought as I put my front end back together, assuming the bushings are pressed in correctly, make sure that you are reinstalling  the control arm for the left side on the left and right side  on the right.  in reviewing installation, there are instances where people installed the arm on the opposite side of the car.  Just a thought.  The picture I posted shows my original control arm left side in my 70 Challenger prior to removal.
Good Luck!

I'm down in the Chatham area a little town of Merlin. My son went to texasa in 2002 an got this 70 Cuda No. matching 340/4 spd with build sheet. We had the car media blasted and sent to a shop in Amesburg. They had the car for 4 years and ripped him off for 9000 dollars. I own the car now and trying to put it all back. I did 4 Chevys and this is my first Mopar so I need lots of pics and help. Thanks for the pics of the A arms now I no which side is which I can try to get them back in they fit really tight Thanks again Dirk

I finally got the Arms inbut now they don't seem to come down fare enough to hook the ball joint up. I'm pretty sure I got them on the right sides with the indent to the front. But now when I try to pull them down to the ball joint they hit on the frame where its notched, they hit at the back closes to the firewall. It looks like there suppose to fit down in those notches. I been trying for 2 days and cant seem to get them right. Do the cams have to go in a certain way. The a arm hit just enough to stop it from coming down, even  when I jack the bottom arm up as high as it will go. This is my first Mopar and im lost Thanks for any help u guys can give me Dirk

Are the lower control arms and adjusting blade located in the correct position. Are the torsion bars in and adjusted to ride height? Is the upper arm bumper in place? Any or all of these can produce the problem you have.

If its been 8 years since you disassembled it, you might want to pick up a reproduction of the Field Service Manual. Its going to cover everything you need to know about these cars. There are aspects of working on the Mopar that are worlds different than a GM.

hi Allan in the pic mine are hitting just below the bolt where it sits in the notch. I don't have the torsion bars in yet,i can jack the lower right up but cant get the upper dowto it because it hits on the edge of that notch. I just need to get the wheels on so I can load it for the bodyshop. Its going on a rotisserie, and it all has to come back off. I order a manual but don't have it yet Thanks Dirk.
