Can the 23 spline input shaft mate up to a 426 Hemi? Can you take a 18 shaft and put it in a 23 spline trans?

as long as the clutch disc has the matching spline count & release brg you can bolt a 23 to anything or an 18 to anything , the parts cannot be swapped with out changing all the inner parts of the tranny as a set

Thanks for the answer CP. Have you seen anyone take a 23 to a Hemi and have it work sucessfully without any problems? Would I be better off getting Hemi guts or just go get a Hemi trans? Not worried about numbers matching. I'm weighing the decision if I should sell my 23 slpine 833 or keep it.What would you do? Again, thanks for any input. (no pun intended)

I would use the 23 spline , they will take a ton of punishment , if you are going to use slicks & or race the car with traction you May have a problem But I have raced with 23 for years with traction & more HP than a Hemi with no issues
