The car is a West coast car.  I am comfortable with the body condition, and yes, it needs paint.  I would paint it either way.  the car I buy will be stripped and painted, then put back together.  The battery box has a rust spot...the only one, it is silver dollar sized.  Engine compartment is rally red...the original color, the outside is off a shade.  Asking price is $17500.  I guess if the build sheet was there, and the tag was present I would pay in that range.

As far as buying...yes, I have the E-body bug.  I have owned over 60 classic mustangs and Shelbys in the last 12 years.  Here is a quick pic of my stable last spring....sadly...all of these cars are gone, and sold....

WOW - you have some beautiful cars there!

I, if it was me, would say 17,500 is just too high.
If you wanted to through a number at him, and this depends on how warm and fuzzy you feel about this car would be more around if not just under $14,000.
A lot of things come into play with a buy like this. The area, if there is another buyer on line and weather the current owner wants to sell fast. Someone will buy this car, and some of the guys may think I'm nuts ( no surpises there  :ack: ) but the fact is these cars are being snapped up and the prices climb on them daily.

I know I live in an area where - there is only a handful of these cars around and also it's the rust belt, making them harder to find in 1 piece.

We can give you our feedback, but it all comes down to how you feel about it.

Have you seen the car in person? Drive it?

I would think the car is between a 7 to $9000 car........NZ is right when he says the cars value takes somewhat of a hit with no fender tag.........although not completely rare cause alot of cars had fenders replaced because of a a wreck and alot of times the fender tag didnt get transferred........however if you do have the vin number in the dash (and) the vin number on the drivers door decal the car could be a 10,000 car.     I doubt the paint is that color, and you figure $8000 for new paint, interior and misc parts........i like to figure high on restoration parts.........now it depends if you just wanna daily driver or if you want to be the big dog at local car shows.......cause if you do you wanna strip the car, fenderwells, and firewall........its time consuming and expensive if you pay others to do this.....and the paint on this car looks rough.......   A big block RT is worth $20,000 to $30,000 if nicely done and depends on the options you have......the higher option cars of course bring more.......

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

There is only one of those ponies I'd consider, a 69 Mach I with the 428 Cobra Jet. Anyone got about 30K you can spare?,lol.
