70 R/T with pics...
« on: June 08, 2005 - 05:46:15 AM »
Here is a 70 Chally I am looking at....

No fender tag, to build sheet found.  Same owner for about 14 years.  R/T 383, auto.  Whats a fiar price with the custom  (typical 70's) interior?  I know seat covers aren't that much.

Thanks,

Soon to be a Mopar owner....

I'd say a ball park figure without seeing the Challenger. Exterior condition? etc

I'd say $4,500 - $6,000

NZ are you sniffing model glue

I'm thinking more like 74chall, maybe even a little higher.
The body does look pretty nice.

EASILY $10,000 the body looks super straight, solid, not quite but all it needs ais a good blast underneath and some minor work.

If it can be proven that everything is numbers match R/T I don't think $15,000+ is out of line at all.
The "early" E-bods just get more money - and a fact is a real 70 R/T is worth a bit of cash.

Got any more pics?

The good news is that looks to be a sweet ride - the bad news it's looking like it will cost more

How well do you know the owner if at all?
Is it for sale localy or on the net or did you just come across a car that could be had for the right money?

Just curious and things that could come into play with price.

The car is advertised on the net. No fender tag, no build sheet.  Vin shows JS23N....

2 or 3 owner car.  This person bought 14-15 years ago as an investment...hasn't been driven much over the last 25 years.  Rust free.

The 383, R/T, matching numbers 4 speed, BUT A RUST BUCKET...just sold for $14750.  Whenj I say rust bucket...I mean it.

This car is rust free, but not matching numbers, no tag...etc.

No #'s means a big decrease in price....I'm also getting the feeling from a few of your photos espeacially the one showing the fender dent that this paint is not as good as one may think and I'm guessing it's hiding some nasty secrets.  :( :-\

I'd say $7,500.

I agree.  :iagree: Look at the engine bay to the sides you can see some nasty little spots and the little bubble dents are everywhere.

Becareful as this may be the reason hes selling.......too much money to repaint.  :ack:

I'm still going to disagree with NZ a bit ( doesn't happen often - guy's got good taste   )

I still think above $10,000 - I still see many non-numbers matching e-bods that are even just drivers getting that kind of money.

Does the guy have a price that the car is listed at or is it e-bay?

There is also 1 thing in your advantage - if you are a serious buyer ( and I have to believe you are ) cash talks and BS walks. 10 large is still a lot of money and not every guy out there has that kind of capital at there disposal.

Also, has the battery been moved? Looks like an "empty" spot - maybe some "nasty" there.
That can be a trouble spot if a leaky battery was home there.

Also, do you know how old the paint job is - these guys are good I looked at the pics again and even in the shot of the trunk you can see a little purple.
From my understanding, as far as rust is concerned the critical areas are underneath these cars due to them being uni-bods.
