Not a Mopar
« on: June 08, 2005 - 10:45:29 PM »
First and foremost...I am a diehard mopar guy...but the way things are going in our hobby....you have to be open minded when a deal comes around.  My wife was telling me about a car she noticed in a side yard  on her way to work last week....she told me it kinda looked like our charger....I went to look at the car....within a half an hour....I struck a deal with the owner and drove her home.

I ended up with a 71 Torino GT
Shaker hood / louvers / Hideaway headlamps / mangum 500 / 351 clevland /auto /a/c/ console / matching numbers engine and trans.... ..needs some minor body work...drives awesome!

Paid $3,300!

It's the wifes car...she found it.

I would have bought that for 3,500 too, even though it isnt a mopar. There was one of those in my town with a red pinstripe down the side and it was beautiful. It basically looks like you need to detail the car and maybe put on a set of brighter wheels. Either way, great buy and give us some more pics

I'm currently Installing some Indy rollor Rocker arms, Upgraded hemi torsion bars, new front shocks and sway bar, Replacing the hooker headers with new TTI cermaic coated headers...better fit.

Like I said...I'm a mopar guy but this car drives so good!  This is what my wife saw going to work last week....after some research...I found out this car has some really cool and rare options....The guy who was selling wasn't the actual owner...The owner was a younger kid who couldn't afford to restore the car because he just purchased a truck...The seller was just taking a small fee from the sales price and really didn't know what he was selling.   I almost passed on the car but my wife really said I need to go look at it....glad I took her advice.  I will post a picture of the actual color...This will be how the car is going to look.

This is how the car came from the factory....I like it!

Nice score!!!!!
Are you sure you didn't get it just because it's black?

Something like that could probably be easily flipped on eGouge for around 7G's...especially with it having matching #'s & a shaker. You got the steal of the month!

Boy, some guys have all the luck.

That's so  funny....My neighbors said the same thing about another black car...That's the last color I needed...two are hard enough to keep up with :ack:

I was thinking the same thing about ebay...but after driving the car....I'm starting to like the car more and more.  (I think because of the purchase price as well)

In any event, to top it off...the mileage is believed to be original on the car...only 29K showing on the odometer.
