That is an old picture......  :2thumbs:
I see a Shaker was added and the billboards were removed, interesting.
What is the body number, as it does have a very low VON.

Be interesting to know more about car, I would expect the 000801 VON to tie to a very early SPD but the 924 SPD isn't that early at all... Most likely something happened to delay the car...

The codes on that tag make for a very nice car.  :clapping:  Like the A31 High-Performance Axle package ... for some reason don't seem to see that as much as the A32 or A36. Yes, the VON IS interesting ... don't think I have ever seen one that starts off with three zeros like that?
Cheers!

VON has to do with the ordering process and not the date the car was scheduled to be built.  VIN and SPD will correlate, but the VON will vary based on how and who ordered the car.  Dealership were given order form packets from the district managers for each new production year and they were pre-printed with the Vehicle Order Numbers (VONs) to help track the order.  So if a smaller dealership got a low number packet and goes through less forms it can very easily order a car with a low VON  several months in to production.  Only one package started with VON 000001.  Many dealerships got VON's with much highers right from the start of the ordering process (early cars).  So it's not uncommon to see early built cars with high VON's.   There is a pattern though.  I have documented 000XXX VON's on December built cars.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

My bad, i was thinking 1971 when i was looking at the codes on the tag.  :faint:

I was expecting a lower VIN number with that VON...........

Thanks for sharing, it is a very cool convertible.  :clapping:
