I'm sure the color of the paint is good for 5 hp.  Way more impact than stripes.

FYI - My 1970 RT/SE with A/C was built with an AVS carb and was painted Hemi orange.

Yes, an orange engine would be correct for an R/T car, even with the SE package.  My personal experience has been seeing Carter AVS like yours.

Car is currently about 90% disassembled waiting to go to the painter.  Engine got bolted to the engine stand today and the tranny is going to the rebuilder on Saturday.  If you want to really get to know your car and how it was built in 1970, take it apart bolt by bolt. I have really enjoyed taking it apart, documenting everything, and working on a plan to put it all back together.
