All those blades have to go back it a certain way :2cents:

Gee thanks captain obvious!

They all fell out when I pulled it apart.  There are a few standing up there and show radius edge out, so that is they way there are going back in.

OK so here is what I've found...

if you look at the pressure port in the bottom right of the reservoir:

Another angle:

Close up...on the left side now:

sure looks like a crack on the resivour...do you think?

here is the back side:

I am not convinces that it is a crack...but man I am not sure.

What you think????

I just don't want to put everything back together and have it leak at that spot.  :swear:

Real hard to tell from the puter but if you look closely at pic #3 you posted. On opposite side of hole from the "crack" there is a similar marking. It is possible that it is a tooling mark from the stamping. Or... what size is the internal fitting shoulder? Could be from it if there is a nut corner and it spun past the raised area cutting into it slightly.

Couple of thoughts for ya.

Agreed, might  just be a stamping mark.

There does not seem to be any break in the metal, that is if I scrape away with an awl, it does not go through. It does not seem to leak with fluid siting in it.  I am just concerned that it will leak once there is pressure in the pump.  Which would suck!

I may see if I can find a reservoir of a later model truck at the wreckers this week and switch them, just to be safe.

Upside is reservoir does not hold any of the pressure. Just a container.
Do you have or have access to a tig welder? Could clean it real well and put a little heat on it. If there is a crack it will show immediately by the contamination within crack. No Crack and nothing but small puddle.

Good luck.

Yeah good point...so I might be ok.

Nope no welder or I would have welded it up already.

I think I will clean it up a bit more and see if it looks any worse.  I guess I could always put a little JB weld on the outside just to be safe.

Jas, try a little bit of lacquer thinner in it to see if it wicks through to the other side. Push come to shove, bring it over and son Jim, who works as a non destructive technician can either mag or dye check it. Personally, I'd clean it with brake cleaner and flux it and put a wee dab of solder on it. Then you don't need to worry anymore. Just my  :2cents:

Thanks Ian

I had some mineral spirits sitting on it for  few days, and it was dry on the inside, so I think it will be ok.

I went ahead and started reassembly tonight.
