No spark.
« on: March 11, 2016 - 04:50:07 PM »
Okay so I have a 70 Barracuda with a 400 that is having major electrical issues. I have a new distributor and wires bought from Mancini Racing and am getting no spark from the plug wires. Also, am having problems with exterior lighting. Thanks!

Turns over plenty quick, battery is running off of a charger right now. What else is needed?

Everything is set right, it's also a new wiring harness for the engine, could a weak battery prevent a spark from getting to the plugs?

Are you getting consistant spark from the coil , reluctor gap should be .008 , what kind of ECU are you using ?

It's a Mopar Performance ECU for up to 8,000 rpms, and the spark varies, sometimes it's a consistent blue spark from the coil and others it will be off and on. But no spark at all from plug wires.

Could be a bad ecu. Even if it's new that doesn't always mean it will work but really sounds like some type of grounding issue

I've swapped ECU's and got a constant spark, but still no spark from plug wires
