 Wasn't there a story about a guy in SC that owned a Superbird (maybe two?) and turned down numerous offers by people that obviously appreciated the car but the guy wouldn't sell. He kept the car outside and let time and weather takes its toll. This instance is not unique as it has probably happened thousands of times. However, you know that some of these owners who let these classics waste away, take some kind of warped satisfaction in knowing that they are the owners and there is nothing anyone else can do to stop them from letting the car die a slow death. In the end they are the owner and can do what they want, but it doesn't keep you from shaking your head. My dad told me about a guy a few years ago in California  who used to show up at car shows driving a beater Superbird with a bike rack mounted on the trunk. I'm sure that raised a few eyebrows. 😳

Well....even if this Demon owner comes forward wanting a full restoration done, he just missed his window of opportunity, because I just had a new customer confirm the restoration of his 1971 Cuda  ....so I won't have any spots available to later this year for sure

If a customer can keep up with the money, I would say about 12 months average.
The benefit of out-sourcing things like metal work, paint/body etc....is that I have several cars on the go at the same time.

Why so slow? Overhaulin" can do a car in a week....   Seriously though a year is good...

Throw a few posts of the 71 Cuda as you go Aniauto. I can't get enough of those beautiful cars.

In five years I hope to retire early and move to a nice quiet rural area. My present to myself is to find one of those cars and start my first full time restoration.

If all goes to plan, my second resto is gonna be a 70 or 71 Duster or Demon though. Maybe I'll buy that one from the kids of the guy you gave a quote to. Haha

Thats sounds resonable. Those car shows with a dealine in a few weeks, thats just BS, they trying to create drama for the cameras.

So, does this mean you can get a car done in 6 months if you put in an 8 hour day.
