  insignificant ... real world test on a Pontiac 455 yielded .15 second difference in 1/4 mile
A low restriction air filter will do more for performance  http://www.pontiacstreetperformance.com/psp/exhaust.html

Straight through will always give you some (not much) HP and TQ gain than "S" type mufflers.
