WIW - 1969 Plymouth Barracuda
« on: March 19, 2016 - 12:09:19 AM »
I'm going to go look at this car tomorrow.
340 4 speed Fomula S matching numbers. B7 Blue outside with B5 and White interior.
I think he is high but I do like Fastback Barracudas and 69 340 4 speed Formula S is probably my favorite.
I think these cars are under valued today and have some upside potential.
$17k aint ever going to happen but is $12k or $10k still to high?
Has a couple small pin holes in the LF lower fender will need a patch and another spot on the drivers side inner fender.
Engine bay has been rattle bomb sprayed. Engine ran good... of course I won't know until we get it running again. He took it apart to paint in 2004...
I'll see if he has progress pictures.

I like it. I think it would be pretty decent even at 12k. I got $8500 for a brown 318 auto in similar condition. I love the B7 blue on this one.

I've posted on a few of these 67-69 Barracuda threads, some guys value them right along side dirt... I like them allot & I'd pay quite a bit more than dirt But 10K at the stage this car is at might be a tad high... I'd probably feel ok at 8500ish...

Looked it over pretty well and made a cash offer. We were thousands apart and that's where I left it.
Has some rust, some bondo, some unknowns... not running, has a couple paint jobs under the rattle can primer, needs new interior. Has decent Stailness, needs new or re-chromed everything.
Told him to call me if his price comes down.
Been on CL for about a week so we'll wait and see...

I would agree with the $9k-12k range, it needs a lot of love by the sounds of it. but a-body Barracudas are coming up. finished example: $25K http://carsonline-ads.com/colsite/col?use=UC3_ViewPosting&cmd=showPosting&postingID=83492   this would be a beast with the Hemi, http://carsonline-ads.com/colsite/col?use=UC3_ViewPosting&cmd=showPosting&postingID=63830

I love those cars however they aren't priced like E-bodies. $10k would be lots for a complete project.

We decided to go with a plain jane non numbers car to do a resto mod.

Tomorrow I'm picking up a new flatbed tilt trailer on my way to Vancouver WA and buying this one.
The owner sent me lots of pictures and it looks like it might need a few patches at minimum but all new quarters would not bother me.
Asking $3950, No engine.
Has 8-3/4 big Big Bolt pattern rear and Big Bolt Front Disc Brake front end
318 Column shift bucket seat car.
it was $4500 a few weeks ago. Think I saw it last year too...

This is the trailer.

Stopped in Chehalis on my way to Vancouver WA.
Bought this trailer.

Loaded car in Vancouver and headed home.

On the road home

And home again. Long Day.

All in $6750 for a brand new tilt trailer and car. My son turned 17 yesterday. We have our Project. We both scored!  :ylsuper: Goal is to finsh by his 18th.
His first car 2016, a 69 Barracuda Fastback, my first car 1980, a 69 Barracuda Fastback. Last time I bought one of these, I paid $100 bucks for a decent runner with AC.  :22yikes:

Nice score!

Any plans? Will you keep it the original color?
