Help please before I order TTI headers. Ebody adjustment off
« on: March 19, 2016 - 02:29:45 PM »
Ready to purchase TTI exhaust from headers back. I'm checking measurements and I'm off what TTI installation spec is.
This is 1970 cuda ebody 440 six pack clone. Originally 318 before complete rebuild and before I bought it.

Center of crank to passenger side k frame / Center crankshaft to driver side k frame should be offset 2.5". I have 2.17" TTI says header will not fit on drivers side if this spec is not correct
I enclosed a pic of engine mount passenger side and one on driver side( dipstick)
Abit confused on how I would shim this over more to passenger side.
The Center of crank to top of k frame is 4.9" and should be 5.25"
Thanks in advance to the technical folks that answer these questions

you must have poorly made brackets or cheap mounts made at the wrong spec

It looks like, at least on one mount, there have been repairs. If these have been pounded or cracked and repaired, they could be dimensionally off.

I got the specs from TTI Performance. They have it on their website and I also talked to them on phone. Nice company to talk to.

From the center of the crankshaft to the top of the K
-
frame, the correct distance is 5
-
1/4

.
The engine is also
offset  towards  the  passenger
-
side.
Measure  from  the  center  of  the  cra
nkshaft  to  each  frame  rail.  The
difference should be 2
-
1/2

.
from their websight instrunctons for small block e-body
