It really drives me crazy because I'm usually on the go and view the forum on Tapatalk. I always use the timeline feature to stay up to date on current threads but when this happens my whole timeline is filled with spam.

Juliakan joined at 7:30 this morning & currently has 139 posts.....  This has to stop.....  :villagers:   I know the mods have there hands full but the key has to be stopping them before they spam us, not cleaning up their mess....

What experience have others seen here on other website forums they go to that are experiencing this same similar situation?

How do they deal with it?

I posted this earlier in another thread...

Just a suggestion, one website where I post requires new members to post an introduce yourself thread & wait for at least ten members to welcome them before they are given posting rights.... At first I thought it was a PITA but seeing whats happening here currently it makes sense... If you can't post a coherent intro thread no one will welcome you & thats the only post your gonna get....

Heck make it easy two or three members welcome the newbie...

:iagree:  this is the solution.... But maybe make it 3-5 instead. Let's cut the spammers out of here, it's at the point where I can't look at the site with the disgusting words getting posted.  Obviously this site is valuable enough to draw unwanted attention.  This idea would stop spammers and people coming just to ask one question and leave

I agree.  I responded to a newbie who was looking to buy a project car, and I had one to sell.  He only had 4 posts, and 2 were to me.  He gave me some story about being a disabled vet, and other stuff to play on my heartstrings. He wanted direct access to my checking out to deposit money, so when I asked for a cashiers check, I never heard from him again.

Thank you mod's for doing all the hard work behind the scenes!!!

I was always under the impression, even if they had your acc.# the bank(s) would only allow deposits.  :dunno: If this is not the case, I may have to contact my banker guy and have another talk.  :clueless:
