Heres what I turned up with a quick search... Not exact but it should get you where you want to be...

On a 70 there should be a link going from the trans forward to a bell crank then up to the column.. It activates the shift interlock...

Thanks! What would happen if I didn't attach the kickdown linkage? And, could you find one that shows where all the rods connect to on the transmission?

No kick down with a regular valve body you'll cook the trans.. No kick down with race style manual valve body no problem...

Both linkages attach to the same location on the drivers side of the trans.. The shift linkage is the lower connection & the post is about 1" in diameter.. The kick down attaches to the post that passes through the shift selector & it's maybe 5/16"...

But once again a small block... Just so the OP knows it the lever on small blocks has that hooked curve out the back of the trans, a big bock lever should come straight out....

Not only does the "kick down linkage" need to be hooked up, it needs to be adjusted correctly, to avoid burning up the trans.
