1971 Hemi Challenger RT A78 Formal Roof (SE)
« on: March 21, 2016 - 09:42:14 AM »
Figured I'd share this... found it searching for the net for inspiring pics.

I think there is really only a couple of these that still exist, or one.

Guy wasn't a Mopar guy given this description below...but I think you can figure out what it is from how it's described.

On another note, if anyone knows where there is another Shaker, luggage rack, hemi, 4-speed, formal roof car, I'd like to see it.

To me, this is the ultimate Challenger.

Here is the sloppy description that was with the attached untouched picture below.

"My first car was a 1972 Dodge Challenger RT/SE, a 426 Hemi with two 850 Hollies on a cross ram manifold, Muncie four speed with a Hurst pistol grip shifter, 425 HP & 460 ft/lbs of torque. Quite a car back in 1974!"

Interesting, but how can you tell if the car has a formal roof?
Sure he says its an R/T SE but there was no SE in '71, and he says its a '72 with a Muncie also!
I've seen pictures of a couple '71 V codes with A78.  Has anyone ever seen any information on if any '71 hemi Challengers were made with this option?
