Cars for sale??
« on: March 21, 2016 - 08:22:31 PM »
My wife and I will be going to Carlisle this July (first visit) and I was wondering if there will be any cars that people bring to the fairground to sale. Thanks!!

Go early, the deals go quick.

Sunday you may catch a "don't want to tow it home" price but it's often on the less desirable cars.

My brother (EdB at Carlisle) said that they usually have close to 400 cars for sale. I bought a 67 Belvedere II there years ago on a Sunday and got a good deal. Ed now owns the car and it's running a Hotchkis suspension.

Sounds great - can't wait!! Is the expectation that the buyer has all cash on hand or maybe a deal is worked out with the seller with placing a deposit down until it's worked out??

It works both ways. Some people come with piles of cash and a trailer & others probably check out the cars, work a deal, and leave deposits (probably on the higher dollar cars) and figure out the final payment & delivery later.

There's plenty of financial  services there as well as a Notary Public. :2cents:
