Power steering

What is the wire that goes to the power steering pump used for? And where does it plug in at?
1970 Plymouth Barracuda
1995 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT

It's a wire with just a round plug?
Maybe it is your temp sensor wire dangling by the ps pump?

based on the proximity to the steering gear & being a round plug I'm betting it's a black wire that goes to the brake distribution block for brake warning light..

Any chance you have a pic of the offending wire...that would help.  Oh and I agree there is no wire related to the ps pump.
