Shaker bubble

I'm thinking that it's a shame not to show the whole engine at some shows. Share your thoughts on removing the shaker bubble at car shows.

Ha. Thanks for reminding me about that. I replaced a cracked metering block recently. Forgot to wipe that off.

At Carlisle during the A12 reunion, I noticed a lot of people used a cool strut system to hold the hood up and display the engines. Very cool. Just wondering if leaving the carbs exposed all day might invite  unwanted stuff in the carbs.

I love shakers all right. However the worst thing about them (other than taking them on and off) is the way they hide the engine.

I have a large picture of my engine without the shaker that I carry with me, just in case.

That was my first thought as well . . I worry about even opening my hood these days . .  Certainly won't leave it open if I am not there with my car.  Remember at a Nats show . . . Someone going around just taking parts off people's cars!  Took some thing off the car right next to mine . . .

I agree, I would not leave my carbs open at a show, people are just idiots and think it will be funny to drop something in there. Also, I think the shaker is the attention getter; sure the carbs and engine look nice, but I think the shaker looks as nice, plus it one less thing laying around for someone to steal.

I was just in a car show. I spent a lot of money restoring my carbs to look like new. My buddy was telling me to take off the bubble but I just couldn't do it for fear of some IDIOT tossing something in there. But I agree that the bubble looks great but so does that new engine too! Too bad that damn thing is a pain to remove and worse to install.

Yeah I had to run back to the hotel for a minute and left my golf cart in my spot . . . Got back and just pulled in when the owner next to me came back to his car and started screaming!  I think they caught the person later taking something off another car . . . Still made me think how trusting we can be at a show . . . . The normal person would go by and just think it is the thiefs car and he is working on it?

Are they worth a lot on the black market? why would you do that?
