Bilstien Shocks
« on: March 26, 2016 - 05:26:05 PM »
Dang, Summit (I called them), and Bilstien website, do not offer Bilstiens for a 71 or 72 Cuda?
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

I called them directly. Never bought off ebay so it was easier than figuring that all out.

I'm scratching my head here but what would prevent folks from using the 70 style shocks on later Cuda's?

They are basically the same right?

Guess it depends on the length/application. I had no issues find the shocks, more issue finding a deal. Ended up going to FF and getting a package.

I think the 70 rear shock mounts are 70 only which makes the shock travel distance about an inch different from the rest of the years.
Is that is enough to matter?  :dunno:
