You would have to tape it over. There's no way to remove it and save it.

I replace all the ones on the cars I restore. Reproductions are available from our friends at ECS.

If you try to pull it, you will destroy it. I have never had any luck taping one off. New ones from ECS look great.

How did you ruin your cowl vin?

:wavingflag: It was lost when I changed the upper cowl.  I did not realize at the time there was one there. OOOPs! Dose ECS have a website?

If you do decide to tape over it, don't let the tape actually touch it. Cut a piece of paper the size of the sticker then tape the paper over it with only a small tape edge holding the paper in place.

:wavingflag: After looking at ESC site I am definitely going to order one from them.  One more newbie dumb question for you guys.  When you send your dash pad in to be refurbished how do you address the VIN plate?

Take the plate off and buy new VIN plate rivets.

Unfortunately they are like 40 bucks to replace....maybe Alan knows a better place. Then again some folks just use round rivets and put the plate back on.

ECS sells the rivets and VIN tag logo transfer as a kit. :2cents:

I had ECS reproduce my Door Sticker, and I got the rivets and dry rub "Chrysler Corporation" logo.  A must have for sure.  :woo:
