Where is the best place to mount elec fuel pump
« on: March 28, 2016 - 03:41:16 PM »
Changing over to and electric fuel pump and they recommend close to the fuel tank and below the fuel level. What have you all been doing with it? My car is a 73 cuda and any help word be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

Make a bracket and come off the cross brace that the shocks bolt into; it is the easiest to get to and mount to, plus it is out of the way from the rear end and directly behind the tank.

Mounted ours in the shock brace above the level of the tank, used an anti flow back valve in line. Works great.   :rebel:

Probably unorthodox but gets it done.
Made from a bunch of scrap pieces. Foam is to minimize the sound and vibration.
Mounts to the shock brace as others have noted and hangs down between tank and pumpkin.
Was not concerned about aesthetics. Grand future plans will be an in tank setup.

Get rid of that plastic fuel filter. Melting, road debris etc , its a disaster waiting to happen. IMO those plastic fuel filters should be illegal to sell. Same with those glass screw together type.

Haha thanks you guys......I do have another one on the way. That one came with the pump and I just stuck it in there as a place holder until my new one arrives. :burnout
