HELP lost all electrical power inside the car
« on: April 03, 2016 - 12:59:24 PM »
as the title states. i have no power inside the car. I noticed it today when i went to do some trouble shooting for my wiper switch. i have 12v at the starter relay, i have 12v at the end of the harness on the firewall. the starter will jump if cross it. my battery is charged.

but no dome light, and no ignition switch and as far as i can tell nothing else either. I put a test light on the fuse panel at different fuses and nothing. i dont see any obvious blown fuses.

ideas??

caveat: I ve been messing with things such as the wiper switch so the whole left panel is out. But that shoulnt affect the ignition switch right??

So you are getting 12v outside of the cabin but not in?  Have you tested the bulkhead connections for voltage?  IIRC, you were removing/replacing/re-purposing wiring for the MS install, perhaps something is not making a connection now.

Edit: Bah, got treed by Brad :)

Under the hood. It's a plug in, common trouble spot. Connectors corrode and burn up in bad cases.

I have 12v inside opposite the bulkhead connector behind the fuse panel

Look at this e-bay auction, notice the 3rd picture, see how the red wire in the plug is burnt.

Do you still have the full power amp gauge hooked up?
I would look into that because if it burned out plenty of power would be dead.

Are all of your recent addons powered thru the factory harness?

I swapped the amp gauge for a volt gauge. I am switching to a one wire alt so I changed it out. All i did was switch the gauge out and used the same + and - wires that the amp gauge was connected to. Did I mess something up?

no all new add ons are using a separate fuse panel and relays on its own switch
