Quicktime Bellhouse Issue

Anyone here been successful installing a stock clutch fork in the Quicktime rm - 6072 bell housing? The access hole is much smaller and tapered than the stock bell and with the pivot bracket installed it seems to be impossible to install the clutch fork. I sent a request to QT support but wanted to see if anyone had a similar issue here. Stock 360 to brand new a833 and brand new quicktime bell.

IS this a SFI spec part for racing or just a replacement ?
 I have had problems in the past with Lakewood & SFI will not allow any mods but it wont work without opening the hole up  I have not used a QT so I have not had a similar experience but I can see why you would be having problems

I'm not doing any activity that requires the Sfi cert, so I think I'll have to grind out the hole. I can't imagine that the small amount I'll remove would have any impact on structural integrity?


Disappointed that QuickTime never responded via their help function. If this is a direct replacement part then the installation instructions are incorrect.

As long as there are no sharp edges on the cuts there is nowhere for a crack to start , so leave any area you cut smooth & rounded & there will be no issue . I agree it would be nice if companies actually responded when help is needed , they can learn from it too

For what you need to remove you should be fine but I've modified a few QT bellhousings for circle track racecars and they are thin and warp easily. They usually are spun instead of stamped.

Quicktime / Lakewood are horrible. No customer service and a product that doesn't work as advertised. Spent 3 hours working to get the bracket and fork in together without cutting up the bell house. NOPE, still not enough room to position the fork. I can't imagine a world where this bellhouse actually works.

So true! It seems that half the market takes their ford part and drills an extra hole for us mopar guys then calls it a day.

Just put a quicktime on my 440, the fork bracket labeled "ebody" didn't line up correctly. I had to put on the one labeled for "a/b body", noticed it had "e body" scratched off at some point, real wacky...I had to remove my fork bracket, slip in the fork then bolt it back up. No other way I could get it in.

Finally made it through via Hollley support which now owns Quicktime, they passed me on to the founder of Quicktime who was very nice. Things learned:
1. The pivot brackets should not be labeled a or e body, they are actually for the short and long clutch form (10", 12")
2. They do not recommend the use of a dustboot, said that the bellhouse has positive pressure (for raced cars)
3. My timing was horrible b/c they've been sold (as part of bigger companies alot recently)
4. The holley tech guys are actually decent gearheads if you can get through their horrible phone system.

Still think the instructions need to be updated asap, but I am actually up and running properly now....

What did you do to mount the pivot ball stud to the bellhousing for the z bar? I have the big block bellhousing but it looks the same? 2 holes that are not tapped so not sure what to do yet

The ball stud is on a thread bolt that bolts right through the hole with a bolt on the backside. I had to go buy a bolt and washer to finish install.
