My new PCP Hellcat
« on: April 10, 2016 - 10:18:36 PM »
After much deliberation and waiting for a convertible that would never be available I saw the press release Jan 8th 2016 of the new carbon fiber stripes to be offered on new Hellcats with Plum Crazy being extended for one more month to be able to get the stripes. Thankfully I have made the right connections over the years and was able to get allocation for our dealer as long as I was the buyer  :)  Checked the ordering system everyday for the stripes to show up as an option. finally on Jan 21st they showed up....but Plum was no longer an orderable color!! Got hold of my contact and he told me to order another color and he would get it changed on Chryslers end. So ordered that day, color on the order took 3 days to change and then the wait. Thankfully it wasn't long as the last day of purple was supposed to be 03/25 and my car was built 03/18. I made a friend a few years ago at the assembly plant in Brampton after buying a local kijiji item for him that the seller would not ship or do an e-transfer, I had no idea the payback would be this cool as I didn't even know we were Mopar brothers at the time. Well my friend, we will call him BB( Brampton Builder) left a few Easter eggs for me all over the car as well as making sure he collected all the build sheets and tags and extra window sheets and placed them under the back seat cushion for me for safe keeping. He even took pics of it during assembly which I would like to share but cannot or he could lose his job. I have the underside of my trunklid signed by those that dared and its hidden by the trunk carpet so they wouldn't get in trouble. Car finally arrived last week, talk about a kid in a candy store....
Can't wait for the adventures to begin and also deal with the sadness of selling my convert after owning it for 18yrs, lifes' next chapter I suppose.

Shipping items will be taken off, was just photo documenting and saving everything!!

Well that's pretty cool....living about 25 mins away from the plant, I know lots of people who work there and most likely help put that thing together. :drunk:

In fact my Father-in-law was a millwright there, my wife worked Summers there, my sister-law and her husband both worked there.....so yea....it's cool  :2thumbs:

I am with you on the cool factor. Underneath the back seat is also signed.
I also forgot to mention, I was also born in Brampton although my family moved West when I was 2 weeks old, I guess my new car did the same.

Thanks all.
Part of me is still wondering if I will continue to go to car shows. The first person to say anybody can buy vs build will get an earful and am unsure if I want to put myself in that position.
