Does anyone make offset shackles for the 70 Barracuda? What's the cons of them?

Would just shackles help align the springs? I have a narrower rearend than stock so it's got a very awkward tilt to it

When you use offset shackles you also need to use an offset hanger and usually reposition the mounts on the rear end. Most do this to add clearance for bigger tires, if you use a older B-Body rear end you won't need to move the brackets on the housing.

Cut them off and weld on new ones. They are cheap to buy.

yep, the old ones would be in the way of where the newly positioned ones need to go.

I just replaced the leaf springs in one of my cars and used an offset hanger kit from DoctorDiff to allow a bit more clearance.  You'll have to get new spring perches to weld to the axle housing, Dr. Diff sells them too.

Just wish there was a way without changing the perches.

Just wish there was a way without changing the perches.

Replace the housing & axles with a housing & axles from a 68-70 B body, the axles are 1.25" shorter then E body axles, housing is 2.5" narrower than E body housing & the spring perches are 3.0" narrower than the E body perches so it will drop on the relocated leafs....

I thought if you use the narrower 68-70 B-Body rear housing that only the 1" offset spring hanger kit was required....  http://www.doctordiff.com/e-body-offset-spring-hanger-shackle-kit.html
