2009 Dodge Challenger?
« on: June 14, 2005 - 07:51:56 PM »
I hope that this is not a joke.    If Chrysler is serious about releasing a 2009 Challenger, I hope that they do it right.    Chrysler believed that there was no market for a V-8 rear wheel drive 2-door.    Thus, the new Charger is a 4-door.    After all, GM killed it's rear wheel drive platforms, and the current GTO has lack luster sales.    Ford dropped the 2005 Mustang with the retro-styling and everyone is going nuts over it.    Ford's sales of the new Mustang have exceeded sales expectations.    Hopefully, Ford has shown that there is still a market for an affordable rear wheel drive V-8 vehicle.

Attached to this post are some concept photos of a retro-styled Challenger.    Do you think that Chrysler will actually build it right, or do you think that they will hand us a 2-door Magnum/Charger/300?

Looks a little ricy but the hood brings back a little bit of the look of the Challenger / Cuda.
Still wouldn't mind having a 2 door version of the 2006 hemi Charger in sublime or mango or something similar.

That orange one doesn't look "too" bad.  :-\ Atleast for a starting sketch it retains some of it's history. Buldge hood etc....

Sh!t I'm happy, 4 years is a while but hey in 1966 did they complain?!?!?!?! NOPE!  :grinno:

 Yeah, I guess you're right!  :grinyes:  Think they were hoping for a Mopar nut?  :grinyes: By the way, you are right on the 66 Charger, the people who turned up their noses at the first attempts were probably quite pleased with the next generation.

Chrysler smart to do it in 2009. By that time, all the mustang drivers will be looking to trade in.
