Mytmopar: I have a 440 Six-Pack ' 70 Challenger and can tell you for a fact that your car will run just fine without this solenoid. The solenoid is intended to close the throttle blades when you shut the engine off to avoid deiseling or "running on". If you set your timing correctly the "running on" is not a problem. I bought a nice used one a couple of years ago from an auction on ebay just to have one in case I decide at a later date to sell the car and I run into a guy who wants everything exactly factory. A nice, working one might run you $75.00 +. Check out my ride in the members section. Plum Crazy.

There is a solenoid up for auction on e bay right now. item #1855907194 "Buy it now" price of $200.00 The auction runs for two more days. N.O.S. ones seem to be coming up for sale on a regular basis. Expect to pay in the $200.00 to $225.00 range for them if they are N.O.S.Keep looking on e bay. :)
