correct seat back covers for 71 cuda
« on: April 21, 2016 - 10:53:37 AM »
so I am trying to figure out what is the correct back seat cover (plastic panel) for a 71 cuda (march build)
some sources say the pointed "taller " style is correct while others say square-ish short version is correct.

All E body seat backs have the same shape, only difference is the release button/hinge area. :2cents:

march build should be the 71-72 style seat. Only way to tell is the hinge area. I have 71 backs in stock
red white blue and black

so
what they call earlier style:These "early style" seat back panels have a square look and shorter hinge extensions

http://www.classicindustries.com/product/mopar/parts/md2036200.html

or

late style: These "late style" seat backs are more pointed at the top, have longer hinge extensions

http://www.classicindustries.com/product/mopar/parts/md2038200.html

as both say 71

The overall shape is the same.

70-71 use a separate metal hinge cover  (Early style)
71-72 use a molded hinge cover (Late Style)

YES both styles were used in 1971.

You need to determine which seats you have.

thanks anlauto,
I definitely trust you over classic industries,
as they have been wrong many times for me in the past.

I think ill just take a picture of the seats I have.

we have a MAR 71 build and these are the seats, but to tell you the truth, what may be correct and what gets put on during the build is always a guessing game.
