I pulled the trigger !!!!!
« on: April 21, 2016 - 08:50:49 PM »
So........
I bought a Mopar!!!!!
So I am a long time 63-67 Corvette guy and recently(16 months) ago bought a 68 Shelby.
I have been widening my Horizons.
Anyways....I bought a 70 V code Challenger.
A little about the car.
Originally Red,currently it's Mango with its share of Patina.
72 block,original heads,intake and distributor
Headers(searching for dated Ex. Manifolds) It's a Jan 5th of 70 car.
Original Tranny and 8.75 rear with 3.55 Sure Grip.
No carbs, ran it with single carb and different intake.
So a Repop Carb package,Brakes, exhaust a few quick patches some blending of the paint and some interior work
And it will be hitting the streets in a couple months.
I'm pumped.
Will be posting questions about wheels, going to run some Torque Thrust.
Dave

Is it the one that was recently found ? A member here bought it, then listed it on EBay for $34K, then took if off ?

I'm from upstate NY.Car is not the Purple Black car that was on eBay.
But it is in Ebays completed listings.
It was listed at 36K...No bids
Relisted at 28,500 dropped to 27,500 dropped to 26,500 and I made him an offer.
I wanna give it some TLC and reliability for the summer.
When Shelby is finished(Next few months).
I might tear this apart this winter or next just depends.
I will post pics once it's delivered.

And Oh boy am I aware of the prices of parts....ouch
Building the Shelby was ridiculously cheap.
Looking back the Corvettes were cheap also!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm hoping to throw 10grand at it and it be a Patina driver for a summer or two.
Then twice that when I restore it.
